Miracle League Volunteer - Position Descriptions

League Director

• Responsibilities: Oversees and advises all members; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Attends all board meetings; Actively works to increase the number of players in the program; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Assistant League Director

• Responsibilities: Assists and advises all members; Assists League Director in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Attends all board meetings; Assists League Director in communicating with members; Assists in increasing the number of players in the program; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Secretary

• Responsibilities: Records minutes of board meetings; Distributes copies of meeting minutes to board members; Maintains records of all meetings; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Treasurer

• Responsibilities: Deposits all registration fees, contributions, and fundraising money into the league's bank account; Keep accurate record of all donations for tax reporting and recognition purposes; Create and distribute monthly financial statements; Obtains require signatures and distributes funds as approved by the CEO and/or League Director; Maintains league accounting records according to Federal 501(C)3 requirements; Have tax returns prepared; Maintain copies of league budget; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Sponsorship Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Identifies and recruits potential league sponsors; Obtains signed sponsor agreements and contributions; Corresponds with existing sponsors to ensure their continued involvement; Maintains thorough understanding of existing sponsor agreements and ensures the details are executed as specified; Works with the treasurer to ensure contributions are appropriately deposited; Sends thank you notes to sponsors and donors; Assists coached in garnering team sponsors; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Registration Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Oversees mailing, receiving, and recording of player registration forms; Maintains database of player and buddy information and team rosters; Creates registration budget for the league; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Buddy Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Oversee community campaign for generating buddies through various community groups; Meet with all buddies and assign each buddy with an ALLPLAY Miracle League player; Have miracle league buddy t-shirts ordered and ready for buddies prior to opening day; Have all buddies sign volunteer form agreeing to attend each weekly game for entire 6-8-10 week season; Review Buddy responsibilities with each buddy; Encourage buddies to get to know their assigned player, and if ok with parent, call them during the week to remind them of the game; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Special Projects Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Implements and oversees special projects as defined by the League Director; creates special projects budgets for the league; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Fund-raiser Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Implements and oversees all fund-raisers for the league; Works with the treasurer to ensure all contributions are deposited in the appropriate league bank account; ; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Publicity Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Secures and maintains media contacts in local market; Communicates with local media to publicize league events; Coordinates with National Miracle League Association on national media coverage; Obtains copies of print and TV coverage for the League Secretary and the Miracle League Association; Coordinates advertising and marketing projects with Sponsorship Chairperson and Fundraising Chairperson; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Equipment and Uniform Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Creates equipment and uniform budget for the league; Orders all team uniforms and league equipment; Manages equipment and uniform distribution to teams; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Facilities Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Oversees maintenance of ALLPLAY Miracle League field and complex; Creates maintenance budget for the league; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Team Mom Chairperson

• Responsibilities: Coordinates Team Mon activities and responds to their requests/issues; Creates trophy and team party budget for the league; Orders player trophies; Communicates team party information to Team Moms; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Director of Coaches

• Responsibilities: Oversees coaching staff to ensure rules and regulations are being followed; Recruits potential head coaches and assistant coaches and assigns them to a team; Creates game schedule; Distributes copies to game schedules; Calls and moderates coaches meetings; Attends all board meetings; Participates in league activities such as registration, publicity, coaching, special projects and fund raisers; Assists to increase the number of players in the program; Communicate regularly with other board members; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Head Coach

• Responsibilities: Coordinates team activities with Assistant Coach and Team Mom; Verifies that each player has a signed registration form; Ensures each player receives a uniform; Provides players families with game schedules; Maintains regular contact with players and their families to provide information on upcoming events and schedule changes; Communicates concerns regarding specific players to the League Director; Attends coaches meetings when called; Provide Equipment and Uniform Chairperson with player uniform requirements; Arrive at field 30 minutes prior to the game; Provide copies of team line-up to umpire and announcer prior to game; Manages team equipment and ensures its arrival before each game; Assist players as they cross home plate; Ensure game keeps moving to complete on scheduled time; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Assistant Coach

• Responsibilities: Assists head coach and team mom with team activities; Verifies each player has an assigned buddy; Arrive at field 30 minutes prior to the game; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.

Team Mom

• Responsibilities: Assists head coach and assistant coach with team activities; Creates and distributes team snack and drink schedule for players families; Arrive at field 30 minutes prior to the game; Demonstrates enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family; Demonstrates high morals and integrity on and off the field.
